The Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Project Grant: Mei Ho House Hong Kong Spirit Learning Project

The Hong Kong Youth Hostels Association (HKYHA) organises “The Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Project Grant: Mei Ho House Hong Kong Spirit Learning Project” to encourage younger generations to learn from Hong Kong’s history and to appreciate the striving and resilient spirit that has contributed to the city’s success through various activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation of Project activities, including the annual essay competition, guided tours, experiential camps (both online and offline, in English and Chinese), learning videos, and more
  • Coordinate logistical arrangements with schools and other partners involved in delivering the educational programmes
  • Manage and update the related educational programme through various channels, including the website, EDM, social media, and mass mailings
  • Handle administrative work and reporting for the Project
  • Provide support to the Association and undertake ad hoc duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 2 years of experience implementing educational or community programmes.
  • An interest in youth education, local history and culture, and hostelling
  • Ability to work independently, with detail-oriented, and strong organisational and communication skills
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (Putonghua and Cantonese)
  • Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator will be an advantage
  • Five-day work week, with weekend and public holiday work required
  • Priority will be given to Sham Shui Po residents
  • Immediate availability is highly preferred
