The mountain cherries of Kadoorie Farm

1. Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden
Sakura in Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden are mainly the Taiwan cherry species, which is different from those in Japan. Planted 500 metres above the sea level, these mountain cherries usually flower around the beginning of February. Make sure you grasp the nest timing for this.。

Transportation: Take 64K bus from Kam Sheung Road West railway station, Tai Wo Estate or Tai Po Market railway station. You can also take minibus from Tai Po Market or Yuen Long. Kadoorie Farm provides free shuttle bus services to various attractions. Please click here for shuttle bus details.

Lots of visitors come to Kwan Kung Pavilion to see cherry blossom in March.

2. Kwan Kung Pavilion
Kwan Kung Pavilion in Cheung Chau Island has more than 10 cherry trees. They are all Taiwan cherry species. The flowering period is expected in mid-February to mid-March.

Transportation:Kwan Kung Pavilion in Cheung Chau lsland is easily accessible. Turn right from the Cheung Chau Ferry Pier and walk 2 minutes; then turn left when you see PARK n SHOP and walk along the family trail for 10 minutes. You’ll see Kwan Kung Pavilion after the stairs.

Tai Mo Shan Country Park is one of the hot spots for sakura viewing.

3. Tai Mo Shan
There are several Taiwan cherry trees near the entrance of Tai Mo Shan Country Park (the car park). You’ll see them when you walk along the Rotary Park Nature Trail. The flowering period is usually from March to April.

Transportation:Take bus no.51 from Tsuen Wan Nina Tower or Tsuen Wan MTR station to Kam Tin. Get off at Tai Mo Shan Country Park bus stop and walk for 5 minutes.

Although there’s not plenty of cherry blossom in the university, the close-up shoots are really nice.

4. The Chinese University of Hong Kong
10 cherry blossom trees had been being planted at the New Asia College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong since 2012. The flowering period is expected from February to March.

Transportation:Take MTR to the University Station. Then take the university school bus to New Asia College.
