You will probably agree that, choosing souvenir for friends can be one of the toughest decisions to make during a trip. That’s why I say regardless of the time and place, a special postcard with heartwarming words is always the number one unbeatable souvenir.

Instead of buying the traditional (old-fashioned) photo postcards, here are 3 top recommendations for HK specialty postcards which are absolutely unique and ideal for collection/sharing with friends:

2. Post Collection – The Romantic Postcrossing Culture
Post Collection strives to promote the “Postcrossing culture” through collecting and displaying unique stamps and postcards from around the world, and encouraging customers to exchange their postcards with random people.

They also cooperate with local designers and groups from time to time to design their own specialty postcards.

Creativity and local uniqueness are overloaded in their designs. The most popular series include the starry sky series, the HK post box series, the transportation series, HK map cards and the keep calm series. Wow, don’t you wanna own them all?

Price: Most are available in sets for $4/pc

Consignment Shop Address: Shop B217, CTMA Centre, Mongkok

Post Collection also owns a western style themed café in Causeway Bay, which sells specialty postcards from different parts of the world. Customers can feel free to use their markers, chops as well as their charged postage service. This petit but cozy café has received positive feedbacks since its opening.

3Mei Ho House fullcup Store – DIY postcards
Speaking of specialty postcards, this little store inside a city youth hostel is not to miss! Most popular among all are the words of blessings postcards, B&W postcards capturing lives of local people and the “local snacks X public housing” postcards.  How nice is it to introduce HK local culture to foreign friends through these lovely cards!

They also provide “fullcup postage service” which costs $6 up. Although the price is slightly higher than average, we still find it worthwhile, as it includes a piece of special “Mei Ho House commemoration stamp”.

Price: $8up/pc

Address: Block 41, Shek Kip Mei Estate, Kowloon
